Will Kay Hagan Betray Ted Kennedy?

This won't be a long post, because I just need to ask a simple question. With Ted Kennedy too sick to come down to DC and make the committee vote, Democrats will need every Senator on the HELP committee to produce a strong bill, a bill that fights for what Teddy Kennedy has been fighting for his entire life. The last holdout is Kay Hagan, who represents a state (NC) that is one of the worst in the country in terms of percent of people without health insurance. The insurance companies are lobbying Hagan against the bill, because they don't like having to compete with a public option. My simple question is this: Teddy Kennedy is too sick to be there, Senator Hagan, so he is relying on your vote for the issue that he has fought for passionately his entire life. Will you betray him to help the insurance companies? You need to make up your mind now.

Kay Hagan is "my" junior senator. Judging by her (4.00 / 2)
performance in office so far, I'm not optimistic. But I hope (there's that word again) Senator Hagan will prove me wrong.

Her performance so far (4.00 / 4)
has been better than some: she's been a solid supporter of things like the stimulus package. At every opportunity to betray her party so far she's been a reliable vote.

But if she decides to cut and run on this one, we should hang it around her neck for the rest of her tenure.

Cal call call (0.00 / 0)
e-mail. Fax. Do everything. Hagan needs to be overwhelmed with calls.

According to one commenter at dKos... (0.00 / 0)
Kay's office is being overrun with anti-public option calls... they admit that they are pretty sure it's an astroturf campaign by the insurers located there....

One problem with calling and faxing, is that they make it clear that they don't care unless you are a constituent...  important to know beforehand...

REID: Voting against us was never part of our arrangement!
SPECTER: I am altering the deal! Pray I don't alter it any further!
REID: This deal keeps getting worse all the time!

Where is she on P.O.? So far she won't say. What do you think that means? (0.00 / 0)

I called her office yesterday (3.20 / 5)
I was told they don't know where Kay stands on a public option.

I also emailed and and have not gotten a response.

I'm going to keep calling until Senator Hagan is accountable to her constituents. She can't hide out forever.

Call daily (4.00 / 1)
or weekly. Get anyone you know to call. Your in a key state. You can make a real impact. Fax her.

Another idea (4.00 / 2)
After I called and emailed Hagan's DC office I posted her contact info on Facebook, with a short message, which got three more people to call and press for a public option.

Great idea (4.00 / 1)
Keep doing that to make sure every eyeball see's that. If your on any other social networking sites do the same. Eventually the calls add up.

Chris, post her contact info (4.00 / 2)
Her phone # is 202-224-6342.

Maybe also dig up all the posts you did (or that other progressive blogs did) to help support her election over Dole.  I would bet you did a couple of posts on the Dole attack that Hagan was an atheist brouhaha.
