Netroots Nation 2009

I wanted to let y'all know that not only will I be at Netroots Nation in Pittsburgh this year, but I will be returning to the OpenLeft pub trivia team with several of our other front-pagers, ensuring our sound victory. Obscure questions about the 1884 election FTW.

Aside from that, I'll be doing two discussions. The first is I'll be co-moderating a town hall on health care reform with Gov. Dean, (who just released his new book on that very topic). Friday, August 14th, 9-10:15 am.

The second is that I'll be discussing the financial system and economic crisis with Ian Welsh and my friends Digby and Bob Kuttner, moderated by Jay Ackroyd. Not one to miss. Saturday August 15th, 3-4:15 in room 318.

We'll also be doing an OpenLeft caucus, date/location TBA.

I'm looking forward to meeting many of y'all in person. Click here to register.

Who else is coming?

Shame about the second session (4.00 / 1)
You'll be competing with the panel on the California crisis and progressive/netroots response  strategies.

You'll also be competing with us in the pub quiz. Team Calitics came in a close second in Austin. We are determined to win it all this year.

That's always been an issue (4.00 / 1)

I've been to all three events, and I'll definitely be at this one -- it's not far from home (Maryland). So many great forums to attend, and the best ones always seem to overlap.

But I'll make the Dr. Dean health care forum a priority. Howard Dean is how I got involved in progressive politics to begin with.

I'll decimate your team by spreading a rumor that DiFi is dancing the macarena close by during the final question.

Question you might ask Doctor Dean (0.00 / 0)
Q: Do you believe that HR676 and S703 should be CBO-scored? If not, why not?

I am in earnest -- I will not equivocate -- I will not excuse -- I will not retreat a single inch -- AND I WILL BE HEARD.

Second question for Doctor Dean (4.00 / 1)
The Senate HELP Commmittee just voted down an amendment from Senator Sanders that would have allowed states to experiment with single payer.

As a doctor and a science advocate, do you believe that states, or associations of states, should be allowed the freedom to experiment with single payer systems? If not, why not?

I am in earnest -- I will not equivocate -- I will not excuse -- I will not retreat a single inch -- AND I WILL BE HEARD.

That's a good question... (0.00 / 0)
I have very mixed feelings about that proposition....

REID: Voting against us was never part of our arrangement!
SPECTER: I am altering the deal! Pray I don't alter it any further!
REID: This deal keeps getting worse all the time!

First year I've had the time available and the location works out well, too.

hopefully. And if anyone is around and would vote for me in the next 15 minutes so I could get a DFA scholarship I'd appreciate it.
