Expecting Baird to respond to this... (0.00 / 0)
....is wishful thinking.

He needs to be primaried out!

Peace, Health and Prosperity for Everyone.

I was there. (0.00 / 0)
General Gard and former Congressman Andrews were very effective speakers, so consider contacting Win Without War for help on rallys in your area.  The former congressman knew when to turn on some passion in his presentation, too.

The questions and comments section elicited a lot of very good presentations from the audience, too.  It was encouraging to see the reasoning and articulateness of the folks from Baird's district.  (I bet that the folks in your district are similarly adept.)  Since they came from all corners of his district, I predict that we have an excellent chance of nominating someone other than Brian in the primary election next Summer.

Interesting side-note: the opinions expressed and questions raised were very diverse.  People came at the matter from about every side of the issue, so it looked like a convergence of actionable potential on 'what is to be done', even though the root motivations were quite disparate - always a good sign for near-term action, even though maybe not a signal of programmatic agreement for future action.

The Oregonian sent some pathetic hack to cover the event, who reported 260 in the audience and misquoted a key remark of Gen. Gard's.  I estimated 400 on the basis of people per row time number of filled rows.  I'm going to seek corroboration from other attendees, then send a letter to the editor about the count and, more importantly, the corrected quote.

The groups who sponsored the event were a bit underwhelming.  I don't know if they underestimated the size or the near-unanimity of purpose of the audience, but in my opinion they should have proposed a more definite program.  As it was, they essentially said "we'll be in touch".

By the way - did I mention that I'm running for president?
