The Mathematics of Corruption

In case you were looking for a good, succinct mathematical example of what corruption really looks like, consider this:

- The latest poll shows two-thirds of Americans back a robust public option.

- Two-thirds of the Senate Finance Committee just voted down a robust public option.

I'd say that just about sums it up: On issues of economic and corporate power, you can basically take the majority percentage  of public support for a given measure and expect to get that many Senate votes against it.

So what do we do? (4.00 / 1)
How do we stop these greedy, horrid people?
I have watched my insurance costs go up and up and up and up. I was screaming back in the 90s that we needed reform.   I saw it coming because as a person living with a chronic illness, I have been affected yearly.
It is so frustrating.

They're vampires... (0.00 / 0)
So continue to expose them to the light of day, you know, run ads that tie their big money contributions to their vote. No politican likes to be called out as a grubby corporate whore. So let's call them out.

You have to have a long memory (0.00 / 0)
When the election comes around, you have to be lucid enough to remember who screwed us over.   The you work against, donate against, and if necessary vote against any Democrat who failed to support the Public Option.  Unfortunately, most Democratic voters are just like the politicians they elect.  Spineless.
