I love xkcd.

- If you missed it, the excellent Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA), who used to be my congresscritter [beam], gave what for to the climate denialism of Superfreakonomics. Though as David Roberts points out over at Grist, the media aids and abets global warming skeptics because they think it's more interesting than the truth, so we're probably going to keep seeing more of these modern day Neros and we're going to have to communicate better than they do.

- African farmers are already suffering poor harvests from climate change.

- The violent twilight of oil, the grease we should keep in the ground.

- A European satellite mission will be conducting a detailed study of the world's water cycle and is expected to improve both weather and climate forecasting.

- Somehow, it's always bad news for feminism.

- Louder than words, the US sends a clear message to the Muslim world.

- As Digby said, he tried to get away from being Tasered, so the police murdered him.
