Amazing news from Luxland: I actually made it into the top five in the Air America blogger contest. Thanks very much to those of you who were kind enough to support me, I really do appreciate it. Given how awesome my fellow finalists were, I am honestly blown away that I'm on the list, congrats to all of you. (And they are all such good people, I guess I'm going to have to cancel my plans to get friends of mine to do multi-million dollar independent expenditure attack ad campaigns against them.) You can check out the Air America announcement here. I'm so proud.

It's too soon to do any campaigning, but I would sure appreciate your vote. Voting has started this evening, and you can click here to cast a vote for me in the 2nd round. I won't go wind-surfing, though, or let Digby try to swiftboat me, so I will be back to make my pitch to vote for me soon enough.

A Senior Fellow at Media Matters for America? I go to that site quite often, but I can't remember the name. Where do all the people that voted for him come from? And can't he simply pay for his own cruise?

And then, is this Joe Jervis really that much more popular among the LGBT movement than Pam Spaulding? Strange.

Hmm, how is this vote safeguarded against fraud, btw?

Either that, or La Bamba. In the style of the original Vera Cruz version, which is much funnier. The choice is yours.

I know, maybe Woody Guthrie's "Ballad of John Dillinger." Yeah, "some people rob you with a six-gun, some with a fountain pen." OK, that'll work too.

And I'm sure that the Hullabaloo lady would never sink so low. Btw, she hasn't even posted about the next voting round yet. Makes me wonder how she managed to get into the finals, with such a laid back attitude about this. Did she have some help from Atrios, or another high frequency site? Anyway, good for her. She deserves to be in the top five. Just like Mike.
