don't we need an additional column for cloture? (0.00 / 0)
not that i expect anybody will be able to get a definitive answer about that from most Senate offices...

All we can do is call them (4.00 / 1)
And then try to remember in November who voted for what.  I'm afraid the Pied Piper is trying to lead them down the road with promises (or threats) of what will happen in November.

I called both my senators just now. (4.00 / 1)
I got the impression that the person on the other end was pretty much just nodding and pretending to listen.  One senatorial aide said his boss was undecided, while the other told me that her boss plans to vote yes on re-confirming Bernanke.  No one seems to be listening.  Could a large enough protest on Capitol Hill to get attention be organized for tomorrow, to show public dissatisfaction with what's about to happen?  Someone needs to filibuster.  I called Sanders' office just for good measure, and I was told that he has a hold on Bernanke's nomination and that he does plan to filibuster.

"Given the choice between a Republican and someone who acts like a Republican, people will vote for the real Republican all the time." -- Harry S. Truman

Not Tom Udall (NM) Mark Udall (CO) wimped out. (0.00 / 0)

I wonder why ... (0.00 / 0)
Brown switched .. wasn't he a no vote before? .. and my guess is .. if they've scheduled the vote ... they have the votes .. because otherwise ... why bother yet? .. Reid gets more egg on his face .. and the market tanks(remember the original bailout vote in the House .. and how the market reacted?) .. and Reid needs all the money from the big boys .. if he has any chance of keeping his seat later this year

Made 6 calls this morning (4.00 / 2)
The staff persons answered very quickly, and I gave my request and reasons for the Senator to vote No on cloture, and not send Bernanke back to the Fed. Only Byrd had on his answering machine, and he's the only Yes I called. I'm in Illinois, so I called Burris first, then the two from Michigan, since I was born there. Called Cantwell, as she seems very savvy with financial matters. Then I called Franken's office since I contributed a small amount, but very early, in his campaign. The staffers were all cordial and said they would pass on my request to the senator.
