After we won the 1992 election, our media team decided it would be entertaining to do a video of all the big pundits proclaiming with a great deal of certainty that the Clinton campaign was dead as a doorknob, that there was no way no how to come back, that you could stick a fork in us we were so done, that you could put the last nails in the coffin because we were dead, dead, dead. The video, which was shown at the inaugural gala and at parties all over town, was extremely funny, as these self-assured prognosticators used every cliché in the world to say what was now known to be, well, dead wrong.
Well, I just caught a new version of this kind of video on YouTube, showing that once again the pundits have proven that they have no clue what they are talking about. This time it's about health care reform, and all of us who hung in there and fought this fight can take some pleasure in seeing again how wrong Washington's conventional wisdom can be. Check it out:
