Webb for VP: An Atrocious Choice

No Webb. He's not a progressive. He's not a liberal. He's barely even a Democrat. He rolls over for the NeoCons at every opportunity. He has not cast the correct votes on any national security or defense bills. He told a story about what he was going to do when he was elected, and the story was a lie.

Please refute these assertions if you can. Let's see a link to one vote Webb has cast to stop the Bush administration's desecration of the Constitution. Let's see a link to one vote he has cast that has been on the side of the peace movement. Has he even voted against torture? I would be surprised.

He did snarl at the President. He gets points for that. Now he's up to about 12%

No Webb. The primaries represent the triumph of progressivism. None of the major candidates have NOT been progressives. So now you suddenly want Obama to choose a CONSERVATIVE as his VP candidate? That is just an atrociously bad idea. Just atrociously bad. Conservatism has conclusively refuted itself with 7 long and dreary years of fucking up everything it touched, and you want to throw it a lifeline by sending Webb to the White House? Do you have a secret need to fail, or what?

Oh, but there's the Webb-military connection. Right. War hero. Son in Iraq (Still? I thought he was back.) That will defuse McCain's military connection. Because that same identical tactic worked SO OUTSTANDINGLY WELL for Kerry. Right?

Is it some kind of violation of ideology for us to learn from our mistakes? Tom? Yes, I'm talking to you. Do you have a neurotic need to offer the electorate Repig Lite instead of real progressive policies and ideals? Have you noticed that Repig Lite never wins against real Repig?

You need to seriously rethink this idea, because it is the worst one you have had in a very, very long time.
