Site Note about Account Registration

Apparently the "register" link at the bottom of the site doesn't work.

Luckily, the link for "Make a New Account" that appears below the ads in the middle column does.

Or you can click the link in that last paragraph.  If you were looking to register, we'd be glad to have you.

Meanwhile someone more powerful than I will have to fix that broken link at the bottom.

This be a thread open thingy.

Why not register at your state's blog?  A nice blogroll of state blogs can be found in the lower right.

Re: Quick Hits (4.00 / 1)
Speaking of blog tech stuff, I have a question. Is there some way that's not too complicated where readers can check a box simply labeled "Thanks"? What I mean is, sometimes when I get good info from a Quick Hit that's been posted, I'd kind of like to be able to thank the person who took the time to write it up and post the link.

I definitely wouldn't want it to turn into a "recommended" list or anything like that, and perhaps the number of "Thanks" wouldn't even be seen until you've already opened that particular Quick Hit. I just think it would be nice to have the option of being able to let folks know we've seen their Quick Hit and that we are glad they posted it for us.

I have no idea if anyone else thinks this is a good idea, or if I'm just suffering from an overabundance of "niceness", like this guy:

which, of course, would totally ruin my street cred.

Chris is looking into adding comments to quick hits. There's only so many options the platform will allow.
