Another Reason Clark Would Be Great

I had forgotten about this, but Clark really gets the netroots.  Here's Ever Green Politics:

Clark is the most sought after supporter for Democrats around the country and he has been unstinting with his time and resources.  He was an early and firm supporter of Ned Lamont.  He endorsed Darcy and sent her money, both in '06 and this year.  When her house burned down, he put out a call to his email lists for assistance for her and raised $33,400 in a few days to "cover her back".

Clark knows that loyalty to progressive principles is paramount in politics, and that we need to support the people who support those principles.

The site is catching on.  Mark Nickolas thinks Clark would be a great choice and the Sideshow chimes in with the salient point that McCain thinks he knows how to win a war, while Clark has actually won one.  Meanwhile, ObamaClark.com has made the recommended list at Dailykos, and we're up to around 1800 signups.

Another Reason (0.00 / 1)
Clark's bombing operations in Serbia killed at least 500 civilians and destroyed the Chinese embassy (oops!). He has the necessary experience to oversee an Obama administration's future collateral damage in bombings of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

hey don't forget (0.00 / 0)
he almost started WW3, personally delivered the tanks for Waco and wrote curriculum for the School of the Americas dictator's training camp...

Can I go out on a limb and guess you'd be opposed putting anyone with ties to the military on the ticket.

What has John McCain done for veterans?

Picking Clark Would Show the World that Obama has Balls (0.00 / 0)
Simply put, picking a guy just after or shortly after Clark was castigated by the traditional media for his comments about McCain would be an open challenge.  The media would go immediately nuts.  McCain would blow a gasket, and the fight would be on.  Of course, the fight is already on.  McCain looks bad angry, and the media is hated by everybody.

But. . .

Clark has no domestic experience.  That concerns me.

Big City Mayor (0.00 / 0)
He actually has more domestic experience than most people realize.  Four star generals are also in charge of all the schools on the bases they look over, healthcare for their troops and so on.  Clark actually introduced Head Start to the military bases in Europe, for example.  If I remember correctly, he had something like 60,000 school children in the schools he oversaw.

So while his domestic experience is clearly less than most politicians, its actually not half bad.  Also, the very act of running for the presidency in 2004 means he's been forced to think through all the domestic stuff in a way even some Senators have not.

Clark Engenders Loyalty (0.00 / 0)
A couple of years ago, I asked people in political/blogger groups wherever I went, "Who did you first support in the 2004 primary?"  It was a way to get someone's politics in a nutshell.

Fully half the people I talked with said "Clark".

The largest other group was Dean, then Edwards and Kerry, finally rounding out with Edwards and Kucinich.

That told me that Clark engendered a lot of support.  It would reinvigorate the netroots and other folks who pay particular attention to politics.
