"I have come here tonight to stand with you to change America, to restore its future, to rise to our best ideals and to elect Barack Obama president of the United States," Senator Ted Kennedy roared as he appeared before the Democratic National Convention.

"Teddy" as Caroline affectionately referred to him during her introduction is battling brain cancer but is not giving up the good fight. "The dream lives on!" Kennedy told us tonight.

The convention is perhaps the most diverse in our history with a record 24% African Americans and 12% Hispanics in attendance who've come from all over the nation.

No one is being left out at this convention, certainly not the Katrina survivors and those who have helped them as has the honorable President Carter.

The message of change and hope to reach that mountaintop rings loud tonight, as Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr. said so powerfully. "I'm sure Dr. King is looking down on us here in Denver, noting that this is the first political convention in history to take place within sight of his mountaintop."

Last but not least, our Future First Lady, Michelle Obama gave a very personal and heartwarming speech, telling the nation about Obama and his vision: "We know what justice and fairness look like." Michelle did a beautiful job connecting on an emotional level and offering her view of who Barack Obama is.

All in all, an amazing kick off of the convention. Tomorrow, comes the take down of McCain!
