I didn't see the debate, but I understand that Obama brought up DC School Chancellor Michelle Rhee as an example of what we should do about eduction.

Rhee is like the Miranda Priestly character in The Devil Wears Prada, arrogant, capricious, and without a single care for anyone's view point but her own.

Previous to coming to DC, Rhee served on the Board of Directors at St. Hope, which is now being investigated by the FBI.

Rhee has failed to comply with a court order concerning special education students.

School enrollment has dropped by 8% since Rhee took over. She has no support among parents. Rhee fired hundreds of teachers without hiring replacements. Students are now taught by a parade of substitute teachers. Shepard Elementary School has gone through five principals in 12 months.
