Congressional campaigns are making their final advertising purchases over the next couple of days. With a huge Democratic congressional wave possible, let's help out some of the better ones by pushing the Better Democrats page over 500 donors.

Already, we have shattered our $50,000 fundraising goal, and are only 19 18 15 14 13 donors from 500. Let's do this, and let's get it done quickly. If you haven't already, find your favorite candidate on the Better Democrats, and give them $5 right now. It may not sound like much, but right at the end, every little bit helps.

Let's do it. Let's find 19 18 15 14 13 more $5 donors for the Better Democrats page, and hit 500 donors this evening!

Update: 15 14 13 left. A good start. Keep it coming!

... (from Matt) Ok, who's going to be the 500th?  Only 7 more to go...

... And 504.  Wow.  Let's keep it going til midnight and see how far we get.  Come on, throw in $5.  Seriously, every candidate right now is putting their last points on TV and scrounging for all the cash they can get.  $5.

Soon we rest.

alright, i'm in. (4.00 / 3)
$10 for Martin.

Begich? (4.00 / 3)
I don't know - is that an efficient place to spend money right now? The seat is locked up, I think it's safe to say. (Or if it's not, marginal donations aren't going to make the difference.)

I think the truly neck-and-neck Senate races are the places where every dollar has the greatest marginal utility - especially the underfunded Martin campaign. (I just gave him 5 of my increasingly scarce dollars.)

Just a suggestion.

I'm in too (4.00 / 2)
$20 for Al Franken

ooh ooh- please please let me be 100! (4.00 / 1)
20 each for Darcy, Martin, Taddeo, Cook and Equality for All.

Does the 100th person get to post an honorary "OMG were're in trouble Zogby says its tightening quick hit"?

Been giving money to these every few days... (0.00 / 0)
Though this is the first time I've given through OpenLeft's portal.  I hope it ends up being worth it. =)

Pretty sure (4.00 / 1)
I was 500 for Darcy. It was at 499 when i clicked through to actblue.

Rock the Boat

I believe... (0.00 / 0)
I believe I was #500 :), maybe 501 though.

Come on (0.00 / 0)
The fundamentals of the economy are strong!  We can all afford a donation!

If you haven't read "Why Not Me?" by Al Franken, you really should give it a look.  I think it's one of the funniest books about politics ever written, and buying a copy would help Al (authors get like a dollar for every book they sell).

Donating to his campaign (4.00 / 1)
would help a helluva lot more, all that money goes to making him Senator.

These are not donations. They're investments in our country that will pay off many times over in the years to come, corny as that sounds.

Grrr (0.00 / 0)
I've already given more than I should this cycle, but you've squeezed a little more out of me... I gave to Darcy and Jim Martin and Equality for All. Also, desmoinesdem has convinced me that I needed to send a few bucks to Rob Hubler.

That's really, really it for me. I can't send any more.

Conduct your own interview of Sarah Palin!

$10 to Shulman (4.00 / 1)
Because John Cornyn's campaign manager thinks that Scott Garrett is a nut.  That just says it all.

Just made a bunch of small contributions (0.00 / 0)
from $5 to $25 each to close to 20 candidates and causes, focusing on ones that still have a decent chance of winning (too late in the campaign cycle and wasteful at this point IMO to give to anyone who isn't still in the running, or is well ahead), with the bigger ones going to Burner, Franken and Martin. Reichert and Coleman are jerks, and Chamblis is simply evil.

I sense a tsunami coming this Tuesday, moving steadily east-west as the polls close, and clearing the country of much Republican deadwood and sewage. Let them all wind up on Ted Stevens, Sarah Palin and Don Young's front yards. One huge GOP pile o' crap to nowhere.
