Yesterday, I asked you to help Democrats Jim Martin and Mark Begich via the Expand the Map! ActBlue page as the Georgia Senate race heads toward a run-off against Shameless Saxby Chambliss and the Alaska Senate race heads toward a protracted vote count and possible legal battle against convicted felon Ted Stevens.

You responded with hundreds of dollars and we are so close to our goal on the Expand the Map! ActBlue page - please help Martin and Begich meet the goal this weekend:

DemocratCurrentGoalDifference
Jim Martin$3,385 $3,900$4,000$615 just $100
Mark Begich$5,553 $5,820$6,000$447 just $180

Please make a contribution today via the Expand the Map! ActBlue page and help Jim Martin and Mark Begich eject Saxby Chambliss and Ted Stevens from the U.S. Senate.

Just so I'm sure (wrt FEC rules) (0.00 / 0)
Any contributions that go to these two candidates are (still) counted as donations made during the 2008 general election cycle by the FEC, correct?  Just want to be sure, for my own accounting purposes.

Also, do you know anything about how FEC regards contributions to Al Franken for recount-related legal fees?  Someone over at Firedoglake (MN resident Phoenix Woman, I think) did a post about the situation in the MN Senate race, and she posted a link to the online contribution site.  I didn't show up there while the discussion was active, and didn't see the question addressed in comments either.

Thanks for doing this.  Stevens is someone whose time to go has probably come - even without the criminal convictions - but my greatest antipathy is reserved for that scumbag Chambliss.  I wish I knew what on earth possesses so many Georgians to vote for the guy, but then again I guess I have to ask that about a lot of politicians, including some closer to (my) home.

Keep your mind free and clear, Donna Edwards, and don't sell your soul.
