Good proof of concept. (4.00 / 7)
Hopefully someday soon we will see MoveOn-quantities of money directed at campaigns like these.  Carefully -- because BetrayUs obviously didn't work -- but I expect successfully.

But this is the first of these, that I know of anyway, and it's a very important practice that I'm glad to see being rolled out.

Criticism of this ad is going to tend to rely on a muddled concept of the "center" -- is the "center" a bunch of independent voters, or is it the locus of elite self-interest, from which neither party is allowed to stray too far?  Watch for it.  The idea that foreclosure cramdown would have hurt "centrist" Democrats with their "centrist" electorates is absurd on its face, but we'll see it from every mainstream outlet that comments on this.  It's fealty to the elite cloaked as "centrism", and we need to call it out every time it appears.

Kudos Chris, et al.

Proof of concept was essential (4.00 / 2)
Proof of concept is very much how I view this ad. Perhaps the most exciting part of this ad was forming the coalition, and then executing a strategy with little funds. So many of the connections that had been formed, the institutions that have been built, and the knowledge that had been accrued during the last several years made something like this surprisingly easy.

Now that we have proved the concept, it is time to expand.
