Bratty Republicans Refuse to Meet with Rahm

Well this is just shocking

The House Republican caucus has so far balked at a chance to meet with Representative Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, the former House Democratic strategist who has been named the new White House chief of staff.

I'm tempted to just write 'Waaaaaahhh!' and leave it at that.  But it's worth pointing out that the Republicans are going to act like pricks and then whine about how Obama is being partisan instead of his promise to be post-partisan or something.

And with that, here you go.

Yeah i mean (4.00 / 3)
Maybe I'm forgetting something but...

what the fuck do we need House Republicans for?

big mistake by them (4.00 / 1)
Obama needs a few Republican senators not to filibuster, he doesn't need anything from the rump of the Republican party in the house.

Though do they know who their leaders are? They may in chaos over there, with no one willing to take the 'risk' of looking moderate.

New Jersey politics at Blue Jersey.

huh (0.00 / 1)
so maybe picking a partisan dickhead was not such a bright idea.

I don't see how Rahm is so partisan.... (4.00 / 2)
...he caves to every right wing talking point out there..

REID: Voting against us was never part of our arrangement!
SPECTER: I am altering the deal! Pray I don't alter it any further!
REID: This deal keeps getting worse all the time!

He's extremely partisan (4.00 / 2)
the only problem is that he's also ideologically conservative.

So, that just plays into the GOP's hands... (0.00 / 0)
...give Rahm something to be "concerned" about and he'll cave to their wishes like he always has...

Stop acting like freepers (0.00 / 0)
Not everyone to the right of you is a conservative. Rahm's a left-of-center moderate. Keep perspective.

Conduct your own interview of Sarah Palin!

I meant 'conservative democrat' (4.00 / 1)
not an objective conservative, if that makes you feel better.

Seriously (0.00 / 0)
You're constant centrist bashing is unbecoming.  Some of us are allowed to have some conservative views, it doesn't mean that we are less liberal than you.  I believe in universal health care, but I am also pro-business.  I can see both issue being separate.  Can you?

[ Parent ]
The problem isn't that (4.00 / 3)
Rahm is too much of a dick to work with the GOP.

The problem is that his reputation precedes him in D.C.  So when the story gets reported, it won't be "Obama reaches out and petulant GOP snubs him."  It will be "Obama's polarizing CoS already creating tension with Hill GOP members."

the gop (4.00 / 6)
always puts their party before the country and their agenda is anti-america, they attack rather then find solutions to the nations problems because the gop doesn't believe that govt has anything positive to add to society and that is just one of the reasons the gop is incapable of governing, as the history of many gop admin proves beyond a doubt.

Make My Day (4.00 / 1)
The more Republicans play games the more they marginalize and trivialize themselves.  Sure they are playing to their base - all seven of them.  Some people just don't get it.

Republican politicians are acting like wingnuts - how do we take advantage (0.00 / 0)
Obama's positives are at +22 in the latest Rasmussen tracker.

I think Obama can go over the heads of the Washington Wingnuts, cut the "paygo" legs from under the Blue Dogs, and bring Obamicans into the Democratic fold.

After the inauguration, Obama needs to start the discussion with the American people, perhaps in the "here's how we make America strong and prosperous again" mold.

While I love the concept of YouTube, I'm not sure that's as universal as "Fireside Chats" were when FDR came into office.
