that if you are a gay Republican and you get caught, that you are forced to change parties and then the Democrats will throw a big coming out party for you and you won't ever have to be afraid to tell anyone you are gay anymore.

There's a perfectly understandable explanation for what happened. Via TPM, here's the deal:

Craig stated "that he has a wide stance when going to the bathroom and that his foot may have touched mine," the report states. Craig also told the arresting officer that he reached down with his right hand to pick up a piece of paper that was on the floor.

As far as we know, we could have had more gay men in the senate now than black senators. 

I think Obama is the second black senator since reconstruction... While we could possibly have two homosexual Republicans now and God knows how many overall. 

I just thought it was interesting.
