Some Conservatives Wary Of Obama!

Here is an insightful passage from the Washington Post:

To some staunch conservatives watching President Bush relinquish the reins of power to President-elect Barack Obama, a few too many ardent liberals are now crashing the gates.

Really? There are some "staunch" conservatives who think Obama might be too much of a liberal? What was the Washington Post's first clue? Was it when McCain called Obama a terrorist and a socialist? Was it the vicious, rabid anti-Obama crowds at McCain rallies? Are the continuing claims that Obama isn't an American citizen, and is instead some form of Islamofascist Manchurian candidate, a clue that "some staunch conservatives" don't like Obama? Was it was 80% of conservatives voted for someone other than Obama?

This is truly remarkable reporting by the Washington Post: "some staunch conservatives" think Obama might be too liberal. Amazing! I had no idea. Thankfully, there are reporters out there to show us these things. Obama should change his ways because, if the last three years have shown us anything, it is that no one can win elections unless they suck up to conservatives.

If only Obama would give them far more reason to be wary. If only they had cause to fear that their wives would be sold into prostitution, their children into slavery; that all their works would be broken, their houses pulled down, and their olive groves sown with salt.

Come to think of it, that's what they've claimed all along that we liberals want for them. What if they actually believed it? It might keep them out of hair for a year or two, doncha think? (And we could always smile sweetly afterward, and tell them to come back; all is forgiven, and we were just funning with 'em was all.)

Lani Guinier was right to call these expressions of outrage "phony." Post journalists and the conservatives quoted in the article know very well what authentic leftist ideas are as well as who promotes them. And they know that they aint anywhere near the Obama team at this point.
This is nothing but the sound of Brer Rabbit begging not to be thrown in the briar patch.
