Congress Swearing In Thread

The 111th Congress opens today. The quorum call, election of the Speaker and swearing in began at noon eastern. In the House, a new rules package will be passé, too.

The House has finalized new committee assignments.

This week, several hundred new bills will be introduced. Here at Open Left, we will track the committee progress of the most promising and worrying bills introduced by Democrats. The information on these new bills will be available as early as tomorrow, and by Friday at the latest. Ando so, our monitoring campaign will begin. Right now, there is no legislation for the 111th Congress.

I need some immediate data entry help for a map tool we will use for the Senate side of the committee tracking campaign. If you are interested in helping out, email me at christopher_j_bowers at yahoo dot com. I will get back to you by 1:30 p.m. eastern.

And check out our map (0.00 / 0)
This is the first of four maps we will be making for the project:

Senate committe map

It still needs a lot of data entry, because only the first four committee tabs work and because the info is from the 111th Congress. But, I think it is cool.

And yes, this is what I need data entry help to finish.
