Right-wingers: Bush 'Close Second to Cheap Trick'

Go read Digby on the weepy right-wing military blogger meeting with Bush.  But before you do, here's a good sense of what the right-wing milbloggers thought of the President.

When it was all over, the bloggers seemed wowed. "All in all, it was an amazing day for Military.com and one I'll never forget," Carroll wrote. "In fact, I'd rank the event a close second to the time I sat in with Cheap Trick. It was that good."

I have no idea why the GOP is having so much trouble with the youth vote.

I Object to Your Headline (0.00 / 0)
It's grossly irresponsible, and doesn't reflect the article!

As the quote says "I'd rank the event (with Bush) a close second...to Cheap Trick".

So your headline should say "Right Wingers say: Bush 'Not as good as Cheap Trick".

Fixed.

Cheap Trick is a really, really good band.

No! No! No! (0.00 / 0)
Matt,

You're headline is wrong!  Bush is a close second to Cheap Trick.

"Close second" is not "better" unless you're the Supreme Court.

"You know what they say -- those of us who fail history... doomed to repeat it in summer school." -- Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Season 6, Episode 3

has a lot of potential... kind of like prosperity is just hoovering around the corner.

don't go bagging on Cheap Trick now!
They've actually managed to balance being a 70s revival act along with being an active band that writes decent material and tours constantly.

They are a picture perfect standard of a working class style rock band doing the kind of things bands have to do to succeed.

(although, yes... after Budokon they had some pretty huge hits)

Rick Neilson actually appears in the Big One with Michael Moore.

BUT, yeah... that is funny.

When it was all over, the bloggers seemed wowed. "All in all, it was an amazing day for contentiousleftwing.com and one I'll never forget," DeDeo wrote. "In fact, I'd rank the event a close second to the time I sat in with Ani Difranco and the Indigo Girls. It was that good."

I would have been ready to bet real money that.... (0.00 / 0)
....Spinal Tap was these Cheeto gobblin' keyboarders favorite band.

Good thing I didn't know where to place this bet.

I saw Cheap Trick at the LA Colosseum in '80 or '81. They were fucking phenomenal, easily one of the best live rock-and-roll performances I've ever seen.

Never thought I'd agree with a Republican about -- oh, I don't know -- anything.

I'm pretty sure cheap trick (0.00 / 0)
is pretty popular amongst the teenybopper hipster crowd.

Besides, Cheap Trick is teh greatest thing to evah come out of Rockford, Illinois.

I'm already enjoying this comment ironically.
