Jena Six

On a day after we lost habeas, the Webb amendment, Reid-Feingold, Levin-Reid, and the Moveon condemnation, Louisiana is seeing a massive civil rights march take place on the Jena Six.  I haven't focused on it today because of the massive losses on the war, but it's worth noting that today is a national day of action.

Color of Change has more.

Matt,

A notorious member 'iceberslim' who's incarnated into 'iamready' on myDD is smearing you on myDD. Here's what she said on myDD.

He is full of shit.

Read this.  And think.  What happened today is to take our eyes off the problem, IRAQ.

Who cares what Stoller thinks.  He is the one who dogged out Mark Warner.  Whatever

The reason I singled this person out is because she's a notorious two-faced hypocrite. She went on to dailykos to blast 'Jerome' as some sort of corrupt person while at the same time maintaining 'faked' objectivity on myDD. She was then banned by 'Jerome'.

She is playing this trick again on 'openleft'. She's saying all sort of good things about you and Chris Bower, at the same time, goes on to other sites to bash you guys mercilessly. I'm wondering whether that's part of Team Obama's internet strategy.

Well I'll do it directly. (0.00 / 0)
This place began as something different from the mess MyDD has become. But take a look today.  The big story of today is the Jena 6 and how the Senate is wasting its time with condemning free speech while this type of racism still exists.  And yet, Jena 6 is an afterthought today on OpenLeft because Stoller felt it more important to go after Obama because, let's be real here folks, David Axelrod is making money on his campaign.  And we as participants go along with this and help make him money.

The reason (0.00 / 0)
MYDD blows is because every post that mentions a candidate either critically or favorably becomes a 80 comment competition of who can spout the most bullshit about their preferred candidate and the motives of those who disagree with them.  It's good to see brave commenter's like you aren't contributing to that atmosphere.

I support John McCain because children are too healthy anyway.

Is a problem for black people not progressives. Matt has to keep his eye on the price: making sure Obama never wins the nomination. You get it.

And white progressives wonder why black folk don't trust them either.

So Jena 6 then (0.00 / 0)
really great analysis of the issue.

John McCain opposes the GI Bill.

Saw the CNN report (0.00 / 0)
http://www.openleft....

The above link is my take on the Jena 6 situation I posted here last week and a brief summary of my conversation with Alan Bean. I hope I will get a chance to followup on this issue if Alan and the victims families have the time to talk to me in more depth.

I still do not see Blanco in any of the CNN clips. Pretty much most of the protestors were black. Shame on the Lousiana Democratic Party. She doesnt feel it is worthy to make a public statement on this even on a day like this? Landrieu is busy voting to condemn MoveON but she cant be bothered to condemn Jena Six in strong terms publicly?

If any legal experts can give me advice on what Blanco could be doing , please let me know. Also I would appreciate any insight from Lousiana democrats on why there is so much apathy among the White Democrats in that area.

The White Progressive Blogosphere has been SILENT (0.00 / 0)
on this issue overall and I just did a diary commenting about it.

I would say (0.00 / 0)
late more than silent, though it has been pretty frustrating for a while.  It's great to see the media and presidentials finally talking about it.

I support John McCain because children are too healthy anyway.
