I don't know what to say about this former Falwell advisor.

An Alabama minister who died in June of "accidental mechanical asphyxia" was found hogtied and wearing two complete wet suits, including a face mask, diving gloves and slippers, rubberized underwear, and a head mask, according to an autopsy report.

It gets creepier.

Seriously, though, two wet suits?

That does seem to be the question (0.00 / 0)
The other thing that got to me was who the hell has the time to do all the things he did as a set up for a little self pleasure? I mean, it must have taken him better than an hour to get all "put together". Astounding.

What else has he got to do? (4.00 / 1)
And, after all - idle hands are the devil's workshop....

Politics litmus test for kink? (4.00 / 2)
Are we really going after people for their private sexual activities?

Isn't that what the religious right does?

Two faced? (4.00 / 1)
I'm with in_the_open. We can call the guy a hypocrite for damning kinksters while being one himself, but I think it does our cause a disservice to point and laugh at someone because he's into bondage. Even if he was misguided enough to work for Rev. Falwell.

I laugh because (0.00 / 0)
of the hypocrisy.  The irony is the funny part.  Had he been open about his sexual proclivities - this story would be nothing but sad.

Maybe I'm a bad person, but I think its a GOOD thing to point out and ridicule - yes, even laugh at - the hypocrits that run afoul of their own rhetoric.

I don't disagree with you, i think it's important to point out hypocrisy, and definitely ok to laugh at it. However, the original post made a point of highlighting the act itself, not the irony, by talking about how creepy it was.

Only (4.00 / 1)
when they come after me for mine. Then I reserve the right to hit back.

Seriously though, I would never have supported denying this guy his civil rights just because he's into bondage. That's his business. If he'd held himself to the same standard this would just be a very unfortunate private matter (his accidental death, not the bondage).

It's the holier-than-thou hypocrisy of trying to make other people live by a standard you don't care to uphold yourself.

hogtied (0.00 / 0)
maybe i'm missing something here, ok how would someone hogtied themselves?

Apparently the BDSM community has do-it-yourself information on hogtying.

I recommend reading the entire comments section.

But what was his favorite Bible Verse ?

Not 2 suits (0.00 / 0)
Not that this matters much, but I doubt it was actually "two complete wet suits". Thick suits actually come in two pieces--the bottom piece looks like overalls with suspenders, the top piece has short legs and long sleeves. To someone who isn't familiar with diving, it might look like two suits.

why not two suits? (0.00 / 0)
I wouldn't doubt using two suits for the extra constriction.  He probably couldn't just go to Mr. S's and buy a neoprene sleep sack like a normal person with a bondage kink.

Sure, some people's kinks seem creepy to others, it's all about what you do with that feeling of creepiness.  Do you tell them they are bad people and should stop, or say "to each their own" and YKIOK?

confirmed: two suits (0.00 / 0)
Smoking gun has the autopsy report, and yep, it was two complete suits:

Not my cup of tea, but I'm sure he got years of enjoyment out of doing this to himself.  Good for him, and too bad he made a fatal mistake doing something that he obviously enjoyed.
