Joe Courtney on FISA

(This is a hilarious video.  Courtney's a good guy in a Northeastern conservative district.  Not conservative Republican, more conservative Democratic, so it's a good sign that he is this excited about what happened. - promoted by Matt Stoller)

I was making calls at the DCCC today when I overheard Congressman Joe Courtney proudly telling his constituents about the Democrats defending the Constitution today. I thought you might like to hear him for yourself, though:

Well, good for him and for everyone who stood up! This is great! (0.00 / 0)

Agreed. Perhaps we should reward some good behavior. (4.00 / 2)
His ActBlue page is at http://actblue.com/entity/fund... . I was talking to an organization today that gave thousands of dollars to every Republican who voted right on a single non-binding resolution they liked; that's how they train people. So let's respond. Sending a few (even very small) contributions in response to courage sends a message.

I've just given $50.

I'll happily ante up at the ActBlue kitty when our team lays it down real like this. It seems so easy to criticize our Rps most of the time, we really ought to be humble and thank them when they do the good deed. Happy day.

I am very proud of my Congressman n/t (0.00 / 0)

not a conservative district (0.00 / 0)
Sorry, but historically this isn't a conservative Democratic district.

It was Sam Gejdenson's district for 8 years (highsest anti-Reagan voting record in Congress).

It's got the University of Connecticut in it. It's got Electric Boat shipyard machinists in it.  And it's got a couple of fighting independent newspapers in it (Journal Inquirer and The Day of New London).

It was disguised as a conservative Dem district because of the ex-CIA agent Republican who served 4 years (?) as U.S. Rep.
