Greenwald's writing style (0.00 / 0)

I like Glenn, and I continue to read his blog at Salon.  He's a fine writer and a good progressive considering his previous apolitical life.

If I have one criticism, after reading both his blog and "How Would a Patriot Act", is that he hammers a point to death until there's nothing left.  He goes far beyond the "Tell them what you're going to tell them, then tell them, then tell them what you told them," mode of writing.  He really could ease up on some of the points.  Make the hypothesis, support it with evidence, and then state the conclusion.  In writing non-fiction, one does not need a mountain of evidence on every point.  In beating a murder wrap, that might apply in court, but not when writing a book geared towards a receptive audience.

and that style is a direct consequence of his background.

It may be overkill in the eyes of some, but given that Bush, Cheney, Tweety & Co are all still firmly in place, I, for one, would not make that accusation.
