Guam Update: Obama nets one, maybe two delegates

With 58% of the vote in, Obama currently leads 53.03%-46.97%, or 768-680, in Guam. In order to net a pledged delegate, with a 2.5-1.5 total, Obama needs to reach 56.25% of the two-candidate vote. That does not appear likely, but what do I know about the voting preferences of the remaining Guam precincts?

Interestingly, Guam is actually electing two superdelegates today as well: the chair and vice-chair of the local party. It appears that a slate of one Obama supporter and one uncommitted is cruising to a comfortable victory in a three-way campaign, currently with 48% of the vote. So, Obama picks up one superdelegate through an election, but the pledged delegates probably split 2-2.

And can I just say, for the record, that delegate counting which includes Guam is taking political geekdom to a much higher level than I ever even dreamed of reaching? Pretty sweet.

Obama 899 (53.9%)
Clinton 769 (46.1%)

actually, both delegates support Obama (0.00 / 0)
One outright as noted but the other promises to vote for the primary winner, which in all likelihood will be Obama.

So he's going to pick up two supers, with one full vote each (right?) and could pick up another if he can gain another 3-4 points.

I understand your point, but why is it geekier than looking at state conventions in places like iowa and texas and 'add on' delegates and all that.  I mean, it is a real place that was colonized ;)
