Upgrading McCain in PA

Republican presidential candidate John McCain and running mate Sarah Palin are seeing dividends of their recent heavy campaign rotation in the state of Pennsylvania. Yesterday Palin completed event number 13 in the Keystone state while John McCain has had 10 events there in the last two weeks.

It's working. The McCain campaign is chipping away at the huge lead formerly held by "The One." McCain-Palin now trails Obama-Biden by about 11 points, down from about 13 a couple weeks ago. As a result, we are moving McCain's position in the state from "Being Slaughtered" to "Embarassing Deficit."

The McCain campaign's strategy calls for more appearances in PA in the remaining days with hopes of keeping their loss in the state to single digits and an improved final classification of "Beaten Like a Drum."

Haha that was good (4.00 / 1)
That first paragraph reeled me in then you went for the snarky kill lol nice work.

Frankly, I still prefer "being slaughtered" (4.00 / 6)
And more seriously, this brings up a counterpoint to those who complain about concern trolls:

Some of us are greedy and don't just want to win, but want to win in such crushing fashion that no one will doubt Obama has a mandate, and a progressive mandate specifically.

Obama's victory nationwide is not in question, but obviously the margin is.

(I'm really referring to the margin of the electoral victory or the number of states won, not the margin of victory within a particular state.)

Yeah definitely (4.00 / 3)
I am hoping we "run up the score" on this one. The larger the victory, the more it reinforces the meme that this election is an utter rejection of the conservative movement.

and before anyone concern trolls .. (0.00 / 0)
about the polls .. analyze them .. check the internals ... are the internals kosher? .. is IBD really an unvarnished source(Yes, they are a business rag .. but a hard right .. Faux Noise type business rag) ...  are the polls showing McCain down by 2 or 3 in PA .. what are the party breakdowns?

Is there any doubt that the media are going to paint this (4.00 / 1)
as a victory for moderate Democrats?  They will emphasize the couple of Dem sets in Georgia that flipped, talk about how Old South states like Virginia went for him, and baically go on about how Bush dragged McCain down, while Oama took up the moderate mantle.

Just because they aren't debunking the 'radical leftist' bullshit now, doesn't mean that they will say just the opposite when it suits them.

After all, look at 2006, a referendum on the war, and a crushing Democratic victory, and then look at the press coverage of the election after the Democratic landslide happened.

Embarassing ??? (0.00 / 0)
Ok, so I'm playing the grammar Nazi today.  Embarrassing needs another "r".

Seriously, you hit that one out of the park. You got my nerves going-- but in a good way.

keep it up, satire is best (0.00 / 0)
much better than living liberally, so keep it up and we can keep that embarrassing content out of this blog

Yes and no (0.00 / 0)
First off, that same Pollster link you lead to, if you take the results for the last week (recommended by Chris Bowers, by the way) then the lead is down to around 9 points - not 11.

By this rate, in 3 weeks the election will be within Margin of Error!

Still, the last two polls - Mason Dixon +5 - Strategic Vision +4 - should motivate people to keep the pressure on.

But Obama is being smart about this - still going strong in Pennyslvania, and keeping up his ad buys.

I look at Chris's new post (0.00 / 0)
and see that Chris has Penn as +6.8.

That is definitely leaning - but it isn't a blowout 11 number.
