On November 3rd, conservatives told us Barack Obama was running as a socialist. On November 5th, they are telling us he ran as a conservative:

No Contradiction, David: He Ran As A CONSERVATIVE Socialist` (4.00 / 3)
Or socialist conservative.

Whatever.

Why are you so lacking in nuance?

It's clear that this election was a mandate (4.00 / 1)
for a national draft of all citizens 18 or older or younger to provide all GE executives with blowjobs on demand. Democrats need to understand this for their own good.

a better video clip (4.00 / 1)
would show the comparison, with the pundit heads talking about him as a socialist days ago and now this.

Michael Bloomberg, prince of corporate welfare

I just heard the word mandate on MSNBC (0.00 / 0)
Norah O'Donnell asked Eugene Robinson if Obama had received a mandate, and he agreed heartily. Then again, neither of those journalists are Villagers. They also talked about Obama's gains with Westerners, Hispanics, and with college-educated Whites ("a broad coalition").

What about this? (4.00 / 1)
David,

I thought Paul Rosenberg clearly refuted the center-right meme this past June using neutral data from the General Social Survey that has data back to 1972:

What prevents anyone from using Paul's data, and GSS data, from disproving this meme in public, early and often, on TV and in letters to editors and journalists?

"What prevents..." (0.00 / 0)
Because it's a good way to not get invited back on TV. You see, the "center" position is whatever increases executive pay for the meganormous corporations who own the TV networks. You can't allow a bunch of left wing loons on the TV obscuring this unchallengable truth.

Letters to the Editor (4.00 / 1)
is definitely something we can do.

It's also a good idea because the medium is the message, in this case, a million small voices instead of (or in addition to) a few big ones.

This jackass actually said in no uncertain terms that this is NOT a center-right nation at this point in time. This was on MSNBC last night a little while after they called the race for Obama. Just a counterexample. Also, I don't think Bay Buchanan or Karl Rove should be considered barometer's of media opinion.

I have, however, noticed a lot of talk on MSNBC and CNN today about how Obama must, simply must!, appoint thousands of Republicans to his administration. I don't exactly understand how they interpret the biggest Democrat win in a generation as some sort of clarion call for a bipartisan administration. I assume they don't think Rahm Emanuel is good start for Obama's Republican-majority White House.

Do people really think Obama is bipartisan by nature? I see nothing to prove this, except his conciliatory rhetoric.

Bipartisan... (0.00 / 0)
...should mean working across the aisle to sell your agenda to enough members of the other party to guarantee passage; not abandoning your agenda in favor of the other party's.

The media doesn't get it.

Since there is no national media (0.00 / 0)
to hold the liars accountable they don't even have to keep track of their changing story. Rove Lie Watch would be the website but so many lies, so little time.
