Mission accomplished!
Of course, we could subsidize the higher premiums, right? So that's not really a problem.

I am in earnest -- I will not equivocate -- I will not excuse -- I will not retreat a single inch -- AND I WILL BE HEARD.

Well, then...
...they shouldn't have to fear it so much, then...

Quite honestly, the insurers should love the public option.  The CBO says right there that the PO will get all the undesirables... isn't that what the insurers want?

It was noticeable that the insurance lobby was a lot more muted about this bill...  perhaps they didn't want to make the same mistake they did the other week, or perhaps they realize that the public option is in their best interests as well?

REID: Voting against us was never part of our arrangement!
SPECTER: I am altering the deal! Pray I don't alter it any further!
REID: This deal keeps getting worse all the time!

it's interesting
because Pallone told me the public plan would reimburse no more than the average. The CBO agrees with that, but just thinks the public plan will be covering sicker people.

Since that's the point -- to get sick people covered -- it seems not so bad.  Possibly eventually Congress will subsidize it.

New Jersey politics at Blue Jersey.

Assumption piled on Assumption piled upon...
...But when it's done by the exalted CBO it's indisputable distilled wisdom of certain future reality. What a stupid way to run a government...

Health care reform = Employer payroll savings = More hiring and more jobs!

Because the insurance companies are paying for the blue dogs' kibble
They're not really Blue Dog democrats, they're Blue Cross democrats.
