Land Management Act passes cloture in Senate, 68-24 (Chris Bowers)
Another steamroller. Once again, there are now enough Democrats in Congress, that this would have passed into law even with Bush still in office.

The gridlock problem has been solved in D.C. The solution was to winnow Republican ranks down to a bare nub.

Feingold sole Dem nay
Something I'm missing here?

might be because of earmarks
which Feingold is against .. I can't find any news about Feingold's vote.

Feingold annoys once again!

If he has a principled position. I for one would like to hear it.
And I assume he has a principled position. When a vote is steamrolling through, it is not necessary to observe the whip in my estimation.

It is my bet that Senator Feingold could educate many by explaining his position.

If I'm wrong then maybe could tell me why.

I hope we can steamroll on health care
and the stimulus and DADT and DOMA repeal and increased taxes for the rich. Should be a fun two years.

Surprised Specter didn't vote for it
I guess they should have added something for Valley Forge in there.

good news, but...
We had a lot of big wins in the first weeks of the last Congress, especially in the House. The minimum wage increase got 315 votes, stem cells 250+, etc. But then the GOP started filibustering everything and reimposing party discipline. Hopefully we'll be able to continue to steamroll for a few months and get the key agenda items passed before they start obstructing again...

I think that's the point
this passed in the senate. They were not able to filibuster.

And the congress inh popular now, and will continue to be if does the peoples business
The Republicans are looking to loose even more seats in 2010. Don't be viewing this particular set of actions as clever. They may be building something clever, and it will include some jackasses scandal, some penis, or some money, but it isnt in play yet.

Dont anyone be hiding any dirty laundry, get them in rehab now, it will only stink worse later, and we might not be in such good shape then.
