Lieberman as Chair - Damage Control

Following up on the outcome that Lieberman keeps his gavel, some thoughts about mitigating the harm Lieberman might do as Chair of this committee.

Two vitally important things need to happen here:

1) Reid must stack the committee.

2) The Committee Democrats need to alter the rules to check Lieberman's subpoena power

WASHINGTON - Sen. Joe Lieberman may get away with a minor punishment Tuesday morning when the Democratic caucus considers his case -- keeping his most prominent Senate position as chairman of the homeland security and governmental affairs committee, but potentially being stripped of a lesser role, according to a congressional source.
