Why hasn't EMILY's List gotten behind Becky Greenwald in IA-04?

Maybe someone out there who knows the inner workings of EMILY's List can explain to me why this group has not put money behind Becky Greenwald, the Democrat challenging loyal Republican foot-soldier Tom Latham in Iowa's fourth Congressional district.

I have been going over the list of Democratic women running for Congress whom EMILY's List is supporting, with a particular focus on the six challengers most recently added to this group in early August. I do not mean to knock any of those candidates, and I recognize that every race has its own dynamic.

However, after comparing Greenwald's race to those of other candidates, I remain puzzled that EMILY's list is not more involved in IA-04.

( - promoted by Daniel De Groot)

Congress is where the real battles are being fought and where the Dems can make real gains as the GOP puts all its efforts into squeezing Old Man McCain into the White House.  This is our best opportunity in years to put more progressives and especially more women into the House.  Why women?  They are more apt to be progressive and less scandal prone, for starters.  Here are some notable women running to replace male incumbents:

GOOD Congressional challengers on FISA: The List

by: BruinKid

Thu Jun 26, 2008 at 11:01

In the last couple days, there have been several posts across the blogosphere citing what various candidates running for Congress have said on FISA and retroactive immunity for the telecoms.  But so far, it's been all over the map.  I'll try to corral all their statements into this diary, so you can see who the "good guys" are.

First, let's start off with the current House and Senate members who voted against this bill.  They do deserve credit, as it's their jobs on the line.

Follow me below the fold to see the dozens of Democratic challengers who are standing up for the Constitution, and are against this FISA bill and retroactive immunity.

Interviewing Voters About the War

by: Mike Lux

Thu Sep 13, 2007 at 19:00

Here is another great on-the-street video from VA-10 congressional candidate Judy Feder on the Iraq war. I really like the idea of these videos where she is interviewing real voters about their attitudes regarding the war.

VA-10 and a Youtube Tactic

by: Mike Lux

Mon Aug 20, 2007 at 17:42

I want to highlight a cool new YouTube video from VA-10 CD candidate Judy Feder:

I am biased because I worked with Judy on health care in the Clinton White House, and she is a wonderful person, one of the smartest folks I know. But the reason I'm highlighting it is that I love the approach, and think it's really innovative: a candidate talking with voters she mets on the streeet about their feelings about a major issue, in this case the war. Really interesting and fun stuff, one I hope will be copied by other candidates.
