Harry Potter and the Goblet of Anthrax

Well, Detective Greenwald is back on the case, but before we get to him I just want to outline why I find it so fascinating.

To me the Anthrax attacks perfectly illustrate the Colossal Conspiracy of Incestuous Incompetence by our government's leadership and agencies on the one hand and the Villager Idiots of our Mental Masturbatory Beltway Blind Bozo Media on the other.

And you get hairy palms too you perverts.

The story so far is that the FBI has decided to blame this dead guy who committed suicide under the pressure of their investigation.  None of their public "proof" holds up to any kind of scrutiny at all.  They are constantly changing their timelines and plotlines as new facts continue to be discovered and practically everybody in D.C. is trying to ignore that the only thing left of Ivins the Anthrax man is a corncob pipe and his button nose and two eyes made out of coal.

Oh and that old silk hat they found.  Must have been some magic in it.

Still, I don't want to seem obsessed-

And now-

John McCain: Key Player in Speading the False Anthrax Story About Iraq

by: tremayne

Mon Aug 04, 2008 at 11:29

Once again, let's go back to the beginning. The beginnings of the war in Iraq where American soldiers are still dying today in the latter half of 2008 and will still be dying in 2010, even if we elect Barack Obama and he ends the war on his stated 16-month timetable.

Back to 2001, in the days after 9/11 when the anthrax scare begins. A small group of people start spreading the story that the anthrax was connected to Iraq and Saddam Hussein. This cabal, if you will, operated not unlike the Cheney-centered one tasked with fomenting public opinion against Iraq. Same cabal? You decide. Anyway, they got their message to the media, specifically ABC News, as Glenn Greenwald has capably described. But you know who was spreading this (false) rumor weeks before ABC News? The "Maverick," John McCain. Follow for details.

Was alleged anthrax killer a Christian Zionist trying to instigate Armageddon?

(A very significant question here that far too few people are asking. - promoted by Paul Rosenberg)

Christian Zionists believe that Jews are the chosen people and that there must be an "ingathering" of Jews to the Holy Land to precipitate Armageddon and the second coming of Christ. Muslims are usually cast as the satanically influenced villians. As Glenn Greenwald writes:

...large numbers of [US] Christians -- 31% -- believe in "Christian Zionism." In the poll, that was "defined as a belief that Israel must have all of the promised land, including Jerusalem, to facilitate the second coming of the messiah." It thus seems fair -- even necessary -- to assume that at least some sizable support among Christians for the Bush administration's Middle Eastern militarism is due not to their loyalty to U.S. interests, but instead to their theological desire to strengthen Israel in order to bring about the return of the messiah.

Bruce Ivins, the US government biowar scientist who is now the prime suspect in the anthrax murders that came within a week of 9/11 and pumped up war hysteria against Muslims, wrote several letters to the editor that suggest he was a supporter of the rightwing political Christian movement in the US, and that he very much believed that the Jews were the "chosen."
