McCain's errors are not gaffes

When John McCain has made false statements, like mixing up Shia with Sunni, saying Iraq instead of Pakistan when talking about the boarder area where Al-Qaeda/Taliban remain, saying that Iran is allowing Al-Qaeda [in Iraq] to move about freely across their boarder, or saying the Surge is responsible for the Anbar Awakening, he is not (as some have claimed) confused or senile or ignorant of foreign policy .

Rather, it appears that these are intentional mistatements, ones designed to convey a message...

Whither John Edwards?

With news this morning that NM Gov. Bill Richardson endorsed Obama this morning, and the Obama campaign is planning on rolling out more endorsements between now and April 22nd's Pennsylvania primary "to create a sense of momentum," one wonders what happened to erstwhile candidate and number one endorsement get ex-Sen. John Edwards.

Dodd fails to act or lead on Southwick

Many of you have rightly criticized Sen. Obama for failing to vote against Kyl-Lieberman's quasi-Iran war resolution and other no shows (or late shows) on critical issues.  And many of you have rightly praised Sen. Dodd's leadership on Habeas and FISA.

But today Dodd "pulled an Obama" and didn't show for a critical vote when it mattered.  The nomination of Judge Southwick.

Why unions won't matter in this nomination race

In 2004, it can be argued that IAFF's endorsement of John Kerry provided him with the manpower and support he needed to win Iowa (and as a result the nomination).
