If the “Stupak” bloc would agree to vote for the bill if Pelosi allows a vote on a separate bill, I say let them do it… The Senate will likely be unable to pass it (they couldn’t before) and Obama would probably not sign it.

UPDATE: From Cao’s office: Rep. Cao says while he still “hopes to reconsider” he will not change from ‘no’ to ‘yes’ unless Pelosi changes the Senate language, now. He says he will still consult with legislative experts this weekend, but adds that “a wink or nod will not be enough from the Speaker . . . Hyde has to be put in.“

If all we they were talking about was reaffirming Hyde (instead of moving way beyond it) this would’ve been over a long time ago.
