Zack Space (D-OH) to vote No… That's a yes to no… (lord_mike)
Not good…

http://www.coshoctontribune.co…

He was a strong proponent of the public option and a strong defender of health care when the going got tough… now, he caves… he’s going to be hurting…

Positive spin
This is an indication that the Stupak bloc is satisfied by the executive order language and vulnerable Dems are allowed to vote No.

Negative spin:

Space is a dick.

John McCain won’t insure children

Correct
Your positive spin is so much more likely to be the case, the negative isn’t even worth talking about. If this was not expected by leadership, we’d already be seeing panicked statements from “unnamed” staff.

He sounds more like just a dumbass.
Couldn’t even come up any real reasons for changing his ming. I don’t believe he got all this “kill the bill” feedback from his constituents, unless all he listens to are teabaggers and Reps. More likely the feedback took the form of cash from lobbyists.

He was one of the strongest blue dogs for HCR….
Took a lot of heat for it from opponents, but he stoode his ground.

Once Scott Brown happened, he threw a freakout over the Senate Bill, and I think he’s still in that same place.

What’s frustrating is that he is in a much easier district than Boccieri.  Yes, this is one of the most GOP districts in the state, but he’s cruised the last two elections, has no primary opponent (too late for one), and his GOP opponents are weak and underfunded.

At least this wasn’t a surprise like Lynch.  Reports have been that unions have been beating up on him the past few days, and Pelosi has been in his face as well.

The Yes to No will gain him nothing, of course.  He’s safe from a primary thanks to the filing deadline, but he won’t get union support in the fall.  Although his district is rural, it sports several heavy union mill towns that would be classified as his base.  Teabaggers certainly won’t vote for him and the GOP will just call him a flip flopper.

Space will probably survive in the end, but he would have had an easier time just voting yes!
