Middle-Class Populism

I highly recommend an April 9th memo from Democracy Corps entitled "The New Middle Class Populism." I don't agree with Stan on everything he writes, but this memo on what the Democratic economic message ought to be nails it.

Our main danger in the Presidential election is McCain's image as a maverick reformer who will stand up to special interests, which makes Greenberg's arguments about how to talk about middle-class populism so central in this election.

Thing is, many in the Democratic party promote policy and vote the wrong way for putting Americans 1st in the economic equation.  oopsy!

But, I'm glad to see this for I personally believe this is what won so many seats in '06 and more importantly is what the US plain needs.

Over on The Economic Populist, I just wrote a detailed overview on the AAM Manufacturing forum that both Hillary and Obama spoke to this morning.  I link to the raw unedited video clips of the talks as well as the transcripts versus some pundit interpreting the talks (except for me of course, I put in some commentary, but you can ignore it and go to the transcripts and video clips to see about actual manufacturing policy positions on the candidates)......
