Bystander breaks the news in Quick Hits– Air America announced this morning that I won their blogger contest, so I am going on the cruise. Thanks to all of you who helped, it honors me that so many folks voted for me. While I intend to have fun, I will spend most of the trip strategizing my ass off with Rachel, Howard, and the gang, so hopefully I will do you proud.

Now for those of you who voted for Digby, maybe if we can raise her some big money over the next few days, I can talk her into going along.

The announcement from Air America hit my inbox, and I dashed over expecting to see that you’d announced it here. I fear my excitement for you got the better of me. Congratulations. Now, dammit, get a strategy going for us, will ya. I’m as tired of reading the apologies for our fully marginalized left as, probably, the people writing them are. Your suggestion about helping Digby to go along is most excellent. We really do need her there with you. Someone has to keep your feet planted on the ground.

But now we should all lead the charge to remove Harry Reid as ML, for gross dereliction of duty as a starter. Most people don’t know that Harry could have stopped the 101 filibusters that created this shitty bil and impeded progress on others, making all Democrats look like cowardly ineffective idiots, at any time by simply changing the rule. And he refused.

If we’re to believe the White House really wants to improve the health care bill, we need a new ML who’s willing to use the rules not to impede progress, but to move it forward – to get the job/s done properly.

Nothing in the Constitution demands 67 or 60 votes to change the rules. All it takes is a simple majority, and Harry, Rahm and Obama have know that all along.
